Just having installed a copy of RC1 I have around, I notice that XP doesn't allow you to set audio inputs to "Wave" or "Mixer" its set to the actual physical inputs.

I'm looking around for a way to get around this. It might be the onboard audio on this system, but I think I have heard this from others with soundblasters, that no one can access the raw audio feed anymore.

My copy of Vista RC1 is now up and running.
And yes, I see the same problem their appears to be no options to set. Unlike pre vista windows.

Initially though R4 ran ok graphically but with no sound input.

Realtek support = Taiwan based ftp = 4 KBps download speed, left overnight for a file sized 15 Mb
All good! Key is to install actual hardware manufacture drivers instead of Microsoft default drivers, then follow instructions as posted above ( show disabled devices > pick the one called "stereo mix" , enable it and set it default )

Working great on 64bit dual core AMD , 2 giga ram , Nvidia / Realtec system running Vista Ultimate 64 bit ( Detailed system configuration http://hq1.shuttle.com/products_page03. ... I=7&PI=189 )
Framerate at 55 - 59 fps, no problems/bugs whatsoever

Yeah I meant install the manufacture's drivers for the sound card.

I have the retail Vista Ultimate, & R4 runs awesome. I'm getting 60+ fps. I have an Intel extreme x6800cpu, Intel Badaxe mobo, 2 x XFX 7950 vid card, 2 gigs Corsair. R4 is the best ever when it comes to Winamp plugins or running any other mp3 player on the pc.
