Video's... "simply"

I'm having trouble piecing together various posts to have R4 play avi/mpg!

I have VidCap for my webcam (need a better cam!), which works wonderfully. Now i have moved on to bigger things and have managed to play 1 video, using VidPlay and the msvcr70d.dll. Only 1 video because, even having separate predefines pointing to other video-files, they all play the same file...

I am a newbie at this, so apologies if this is a stoopid question, moving from sound-mixers to C++ is a huge step!

The "1" video file, at least, has been merged together, so when i do use that predefine, the chance of being the same scene isn't great, so it works for me... so far!

strcpy(vid.filename,"video.avi");

is this in the "tex" directory?
at the mo i have my video's pointed to like this:

strcpy(vid.filename,"c:\video\video.avi");

Hi,

I never finished VidPlay - hence the need for the debug file (the dll). There is a Video module which you could try. I've haven't looked at it myself.

If there is demand for the Vidplay module to be improved I can spend some more time on it, although I thought better video support was already being worked on for the next version of R4.

Gordon - Let me know, Is it worth improving vidplay? or has the work already been done?
