i recently got myself a radeon 9600XT ... i dont mind it, its much better than my previous gforce2.MX400 .. the radeon was cheaper, being a student this was the main selling point. i cant afford to buy food.

Its a point - I don't really mind people who have bought one. The only reason I bought NVidia in the first place was exactly that - and on the whole there is very little customer loyalty - and rightly so.

The only thing that annoys me is the ignorance of graphics card owners. A large amount seem very sure that whichever make of card they have is the best, even though they have no experience of it other than from playing games.

I must admit that I am not completely unbiased either, but at least I am doing it purely from what I know about each of the cards I have tried, and the problems that have been reported to me by the users.

good point gordon. (im the guest users above. forgot to login after registering).

i was for years an intel & nvidia only kind of guy, but as iv gotten older and prices have gone up, responsibilities have increased.. iv had to change to amd & ati for cost reasons adding to that i got my AMD chip for free (P3 1ghz -> amd 1800+). free!! and for a fraction of the cost of an nvidia card i got a second hand 9600XT... so those are the reasons for my upgrading. im not all that technology experienced nor do i want to be. its all fun and fun some more. but having dual head output really makes my day. be it projection screen onto my wall or next door neighbours window, or another monitor.. its great fun!
