Been playing with overlays again and here are another 4.
I love the way the twisted truth ones work on the scenes with a load of cubes and straight edges in.

We really need to figure out if it's a particular R4 function that's bunging up, and narrow down exactly why from there. I'm still suspicious of the texture loading/assignment code, myself.

I know what it is. So far i think i've been ok at making scenes ATI compliant.
Basically ATI's PBuffer Multitexture code is broken. It affects MIX (modes 3+4 i think), MASK, RADIALBLUR, EMBOSS, DIFF and probably one or two others. If your scene doesn't use them, you're fine as far as i can tell.
There is a workaround for MASK - see some of the special ATI scenes. You could also workaround the others at the expense of dynamic range, but it would be too slow to be worth it.

Gordon Mix type 3 is fine for your voiceprint metaballs.

ahh. Yes, that one would be, because the second texture is not a PBuffer. If you swap the 1st and 2nd texture arguments around, so the second texture in multitexturing is a pbuffer, it'll break.
